Alaska Storm Worst Ever – Not much phases Alaskans but the menace of a life threatening winter storm which forecasters predict will be the worst storm ever has caught folks attention.

The National Weather Service is predicting a winter storm for Alaska calling it the ‘worst storm ever’ moving from the far western Aleutian Islands on Monday afternoon towards the Bering Sea and Alaska’s west coast on Tuesday.
NWS is forecasting hurricane force winds of 75 mph with seas reaching 25 feet in the northern Bering Sea. In Alaska’s Norton Sound sea levels are expected to rise as high as 9 feet which combined with high waves from the winds will cause erosion and flooding on the coast. NWS warns of another potential danger regarding sea ice. Forecasters say the sea ice could be pushed by the wind and waves onto the shore causing significant damage.
The NWS blizzard watch will remain in effect from early Wednesday morning throughout the day on Wednesday. Residents should expect blizzard white out conditions with visibility near zero in the blowing snow and snow accumulations of more than 2 feet on Alaska’s west coast.
